Under updated child safety legislation Blue Card requirements for amusement and event environments will apply from 20th September 2025 (with a 12 month transition period).
For the Ekka 2026 RNA will require compliance ahead of this date.
All exhibitors, operators, employees and volunteers who are working in roles that involve children must hold a valid Blue Card as a condition of participation in the Ekka 2026.
This includes (but is not limited to):
- Ride operators or staff interacting with children
- Businesses operating amusement or child focused attractions
Exhibitors must ensure all relevant staff are compliant and provide Blue Card details as part of their pre event requirements. Failure to provide valid Blue Card details will result in inability to operate at Ekka.
